Anna Mary (Diehl) and Jacob Harcleroed, Great-Great-Grandparents
Written on back: "Mr & Mrs Harclerode / Mother of Nora Thompson who was the Mother of Stella Grace (Thompson) Turner - the Mother of Lawrence, Ruth, Paul & Glen Turner. / These people are your Great-Great Grandparents." ------- This is Anna Mary (Diehl) and Jacob Harclerode. They were both born in Bedford County, Pennsylvania (she in 1836 and he in 1831). Anna died in 1909 and Jacob in 1913, both in Oakley, Kansas. They were the parents of Susan Nora Harclerode who married Robert Samuel Thompson. Date unknown but likely taken in the 1890s.
Thompson families and relations at Sterling, Colorado, 1935. IDs by Virginia Welton: left to right: Charles Griffin ("Uncle Charlie"), Gilbert Wayne Griffin holding Doris Shockley, ("Grandma") Nora Harclerode Thompson, Claude Thompson's daughter (with white collar) and his son in front of her. Behind the girl in the white collar is Virginia Turner (hair pulled back) and next to her is her sister, Velma Turner. Lee (Lillian) Turner is in front of Velma looking at a baby. The man in back is Earl Griffin and it's probably Ruth Turner in front and to the right of him (face obscured and holding her son, Richard). In front holding Grace's son, Paul, is May Thompson Griffin and next, in the far back, is Grace Griffin Shockley. The couple at the far right are Alice and Joseph Claude Thompson. The house in back was Robert Thompson's, bought for him by Floyd C. Turner, according to Virginia Welton.
Probably Roy Thompson, Stella (Thompson) Turner, and Alonzo Turner at Roy and Neva's house in Brawley, California. The car's license plate is Idaho; Stella and Alonzo likely lived in Idaho at the time and were visiting. (This house is probably at 325 K St., Brawley, CA.) Date of photo is unkown, but likely in the 1940s.
