Mt. Diablo Night Shoot Meetup

The Night Photography Meetup group joined with the Mt. Diablo Astronomical Society to be on the mountain after dark. We shot the sunset, twilight, star trails, the International Space Station flyover and the shuttle Atlantis flyover. We also had the opportunity to view the sky through some really nice telescopes. A terrific evening.

International Space Station fly over. This is a 30-second exposure which gives the stars little trails.
Tower and star trails on Mt. Diablo. This 10-minute exposure shows the star trails circling around the North Star. The sky is very light from city lights.
